Now that Labor Day has passed, it’s officially fall. And in Bridgewater, that can mean only one thing: plenty of fun, autumnal activities to enjoy with family and friends!
If you recently moved here and want to visit some local farms and events, I’ve got you covered. Bridgewater has a ton of stuff going on this season, and trust me — you don’t want to miss it.
Everyone always says they’re going to do *all the autumn things,* but months turn into weeks, turn into days, and suddenly, it’s winter again. Don’t let this happen to you!!!
I’m going to drop a list of my family’s favorite local activities so you can make the most of the season. Even if you can’t attend every single event, I hope you enjoy a few of them and make some happy memories.
Here’s the scoop:
1. Chunky Knit Blankets – On Tuesday, September 17, at 5 PM, learn how to knit your very own chunky knit blanket using only your two hands — no tools required! And no worries if you have no prior knitting experience. The class, hosted over at Holmestead Harvest, is beginner-friendly.
2. Sauchuk’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch – is open every weekend from September 21 to November 3. This is a must-visit for my family every year!
3. The Corn Festival – September 21, head over to the South Shore YMCA to enjoy farm animals, traditional crafts, live music, games, a corn pit and maze, hayrides, pony rides, food trucks, and more!
4. Autumn-Fest – On Saturday, September 28, come on out to the BSU Quad for free! Shop local crafters, support local businesses, and enjoy music, a food court, a petting zoo, and much more.
5. The Dark Market – The fun starts on Saturday, October 5, at Mistletoe Acres Tree Farm. Wear a costume and enjoy live music, food trucks, and photos with Krampus.
6. The Witches Walk – Also on October 5. This is a fun evening of live music, games, and trick-or-treating with the witches of the South, East, West, and North. Tickets are required ($20 per child and free for adults).
7. Trunk or Treat: On October 18, head over to the Old Colony YMCA to meet the minions from Despicable Me, enter a costume contest, and enjoy family-friendly trick-or-treating. Free for members and just $5 for non-members!
8. Fall Menu Tasting Event – November 9-12, experience The Cozy Cottage’s fall menu in all its glory. They’ll be serving pumpkin cinnamon buns, dinner rolls, pies, and cider, and let me tell you: it’s going to be delicious.
Happy fall from my family to yours. Let’s make the most of this beautiful season!
